Toyota is known for building some of the best cars out there, and are also the ones who built the Corolla, the best-selling car of all time. The car we will discuss now is not the Corolla though, but its bigger brother, the Toyota Camry.

The Camry Sedan SE and XSE trims are sportier versions of the midsize sedan. Camry’s cabin is a simple yet feature-packed space, especially in the upper trims. 2019 Toyota Camry Sedan price ranges from a little less than $24k to a little above $32k.

  • Excellent drivability
  • Great fuel economy with the 4-cylinder engine
  • Well-priced

  • Introduction of Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay integration
  • Trim Levels
2019 Toyota Camry Sedan is available to choose from 5 different trims. These are L, LE, SE, XSE, and XLE. Out of them all, the SE and XSE come with a sportier suspension.

The base L trim features 16-inch steel wheels, automatic LED headlights, cloth upholstery, and keyless entry. Other notable standard features on the base trim include a 7-inch infotainment system with a 6-speaker sound system, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rearview camera.

Next up is the LE trim that comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 60/40-split folding back seat, a car alarm, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The SE trim brings a sportier performance with 18-inch wheels, revised steering calibration, and a sportier suspension.

Moreover, the SE trim features SofTex (simulated-leather) seats and paddle shifters. Both XSE and XLE are basically the SE and LE, respectively, trims with additional comfort and convenience features. Notable amongst them are blind-spot monitoring and leather upholstery features.

Most of the standard features available on the top-level Camry Sedan trims, XSE and XLE, are offered as optional features on the lower trims. This includes a head-up display, a JBL sound system, a sunroof, a top-down parking camera system, and navigation support.

Engine & Performance

All 2019 Camry trims feature a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. It produces 203 hp of power in addition to 184 lb.-ft. of torque for non-XSE trims and an additional 3 horsepower and 2 lb.-ft. for the XSE trim. The engine is paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission mode.

In the XSE and XLE trims, you get the 3.5-litre V6 engine. It belts out 301 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. While the engine is robust and power-packed, the automatic transmission is well-behaved. The 2019 iteration of the Toyota Camry has a better spirit than its predecessor.

This Toyota car has adequate acceleration and easy to use brakes. The steering is well-weighted and direct while the handling is modest. The sedan has appreciable drivability that makes up for a pleasant driving experience on most road conditions.

Interior & Utility

Although the Camry interior won’t blow you away, it gets the job done righteously. The driver seat is able to accommodate people with a range of sizes while the cabin is airy. Getting onboard with Camry Sedan is effortless thanks to the easy-to-use controls.

Not only the visibility is great but also the soft-touch surfaces are greatly placed. Camry’s cargo capacity is excellent thanks to its wide, large trunk. For hauling small items, there are plenty of cubby holes in the front centre console along with modestly-sized door pockets.

Safety

The Camry comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense. The driver assistance suite offers adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and lane departure alert with steering assistance.

This sedan also flaunts excellent crash test scores. The ride is awarded 5 stars in all crash tests conducted by the NHTSA. Also, the midsize sedan gets a “Superior” rating in front crash prevention and a “Good” rating in all other criteria in safety tests conducted by IIHS.

Verdict

The 2019 Toyota Camry Sedan is quite an economical and roomy and comes with a multitude of safety features and a galore of optional features. This comfy cruiser comes with the standard 4-cylinder engine and an optional, more power-packed V6 engine just sweetens the deal. Being a Toyota, it is also built to last, with reliability that cannot be matched easily.
