Elaine

Elaine has released the live performance video for her hit single, Right Now, as she continues to work on her much-anticipated debut album.

Elaine took to Instagram on Wednesday, 21 July 2021, to announce the availability of the Right Now live performance video. The live performance is described as the acoustic version of her lead single for the year. The star released the single in May 2021, with accompanying visuals which trended as support for the video, resulting in the music video reaching over a million views in a matter of days.

While fans had expected the single to be the first rollout of Elaine’s subsequent release of her debut album, the star has retreated back to the studio to continue working on the album. Moreover, Sony Music South Africa revealed that the star recently celebrated graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand.

The live performance video was directed by Nape Phasha, who is also responsible for directing the music video for the single. The direction of the live performance has references of framing and conceptualisation, synonymous with Solange Knowles’ visuals. This is as the performance is conducted with a large, spatial white structure, as the stage and fascination of the video.
