Black Motion has received kudos from the masses, following the confirmation of their feature on the internationally recognised NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
Black Motion feature on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert

Black Motion took to Instagram on Thursday, 8 July 2021, to confirm that they are the latest artists featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. The duo was applauded for the feat, as they marked one of the few South African musical acts and musicians to be part of the Tiny Desk Concert. Other South Africans that have featured include Black Coffee, Nasty C, Prince Kaybee and Msaki.

According to NPR, Msaki is the South African who has had the most features on the platform. The NPR post stated, “South African singer Msaki makes her third appearance in our (home) concert series, after earlier credits with Black Coffee and our Coming 2 America special. She lends her vocals to Marry Me, a soulful jam from Black Motion’s 2020 album, The Healers: The Last Chapter. Imali, featuring Nokwazi, soothes the lingering remnants of pandemic fears, while Tabia closes with the lilting Prayer for Rain.”

The duo made the concert a celebration of other South African musical voices by making the concert a Black Motion and Black Motion Family Tiny Desk Concert. Besides Msaki, additional features include Brenden Praise, Tabia, and Nokwazi Dlamini.
