His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai launched a new digital school to educate 1 million under-privileged within the next 5 years. These students will receive education from any location. His highness said that millions of children globally have no access to education because of conflict and wars. If we do not address these challenges, we will have failed future generations. This initiative will provide flexible and customized remote learning to students globally.

More about the Digital School

The Digital School is under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and aims to empower learners in marginalized communities and refugee camps. Experts from leading global universities like New York, Stanford, Harvard, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will oversee the implementation of this initiative.

Artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technology will be used in classrooms to enhance skill-development and self-learning. It will combine virtual and live classes in science, math, English, computer studies, and Arabic. Teachers and students will interact without geographical limitations.

The school will collaborate with education ministries and other authorities in the region to design an approved digital education model and provide curricula that align with the national education system. You can transfer credentials globally and be included in your students’ portfolio as a part of your achievement while applying to a university or job.

The Digital School will operate from November 2020 to August 2021 in its initial phase. It will include 20 000 students from 4 countries and 3 virtual classes every week for 3 months. This initiative will be developed from research and feedback from the initial phase.
