Google’s Transparency Report shows that the search engine removed 908 million URLs due to copyright infringement over the past year.
From 28 November 2015 to yesterday, 347,000 websites were affected by requests to remove content that infringes on copyright.
Google stated it rejected 32.5 million URL requests, while 53.2 million URL requests were pending at the time of writing.
The domains which were among the main targets of the takedown requests over the past year were:
  • 4shared.com – 35.8 million URLs
  • chomikuj.pl – 7.78 million URLs
  • uploaded.net – 5.04 million URLs
  • rapidgator.net – 4.7 million URLs
