Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo is recovering well at the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on Tuesday, following a fatal accident on the N14 near Diepsloot on Sunday night.
Police are still investigating the cause of car crash, which claimed the lives of two people after two vehicles collided. Critically injured patients were airlifted to nearby hospitals by paramedics.
Speaking to SABC news on Tuesday morning, family spokesperson Mduduzi Mkhakhane confirmed that Rapulana is recovering well after undergoing surgery on Monday.
“The surgery was successful. He’s in a stable condition and we thank God for that. We also want to thank the millions and millions of fans who have been supporting us,” Mduduzi said.
Mduduzi added that this is a very difficult time for the actor’s family. “We understand that Rapulana has many fans, but we would also like to implore the public as well as the media to give us the space to do what we need to,” he said.
Mduduzi added that their prayers and thoughts are also with the families who lost loved ones in the accident.
“At this stage we don’t have any official information from police as to the causes of the accident,” he explained.
Mduduzi could not comment on whether alcohol consumption could have been a factor in the cause of the accident.

The broadcaster also spoke to a paramedic who attended to the accident, and he explained that the jaws of life had to be used to free trapped passengers from the vehicles.
