The former Paralympian superstar Oscar Pistorius, jailed in 2016 for killing his girlfriend Reeve Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine's day 2013, is beginning a reconciliation process.

Henceforth this doesn't mean that he has not been granted parole, and there is no information on when he will be granted parole. Pistorius must still attend a parole hearing, whereby the department of correctional officials will decide if he should be realised early or not.

The Steenkamp family attorney, Tania Koen, said the dialogue occurred between Reeva's father, Barry and Pistorius. For the conference, Pistorius was transferred to a prison in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

"We have no further comments. The dialogue is a private and confidential matter. Hence we ask that our clients' privacy be respected, "said Koen.
