DStv has confirmed the imminent return of the popular reality show, Mnakwethu, with Musa Mseleku set to return as the host of the show.

Mnakwethu return

DStv took to Twitter on Sunday, 4 July 2021, to share a preview of the new shows expected to premiere on the paid subscription platform in the month of July. One of the shows set to premiere this month is the popular relationship intervention show, Mnakwethu. The show is one of four new shows expected to premiere on DStv this month, specifically on Mzansi Magic.

Ahead of the return, DStv shared a promotional statement detailing the premise of the show, stating, “Hosted by Musa Mseleku, Mnakwethu is an emotional and empowering reality show that gives married men a chance to overcome the fear of introducing polygamy to their current wife/wives.”

The first season of the show garnered attention due to the visibility that the show provided on the dynamics of getting involved in a polygamous marriage. However, some episodes reportedly highlighted the misogyny that exists and how culture can be subverted by men. This is as some men reportedly displayed that the only reason they wanted to introduce polygamy was because their infidelity had been discovered.

Mnakwethu is set to premiere at 20:00 on Tuesday, 6 July 2021, on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
