DStv Care took to Twitter on Monday, 12 July 2021, to share a reminder of the then upcoming episode of Mnakwethu. The Mzansi Magic reality show which sees husbands introducing the idea of polygamy to their first wives premiered on Tuesday, 6 July 2021. The latest episode focused on Maxwell Nkosi.
Nkosi sought to introduce his current girlfriend, and soon-to-be fiancée, to his first wife. However, the show took a turn as it seemed that his wife is the one who appears to “wear the pants” in the relationship. She was opposed to the idea of her husband taking a second wife. Moreover, her refusal was reportedly backed by valid points, points that should be considered when contemplating polygamy.
The first wife claimed that Nkosi is not financially able to take a second wife. Whether that was a dig or said out of sincerity remains unclear, however, it turns out that it is true. The first wife explained how her husband has not fully paid for the house they live in, as just one example of how he cannot afford her, let alone a second wife. As tradition dictates, should a husband look to take a second wife, he should be able to afford to. This means that they should be able to provide two of everything, including a house, cars and luxuries, which Nkosi allegedly cannot.
The episode aired on Mzansi Magic on Tuesday, 13 July 2021, and was supposed to be made immediately available to view on the DStv app thereafter. However, on Wednesday, 14 July 2021, a subscriber highlighted how the latest episode is not available yet. The subscription platform responded to the query by affirming its intention to escalate the matter and hope to provide a reason for the delay of the episode’s availability.
See the post below.
Thank you for that information. Please note that we have escalated this to our tech team for further investigation and the episode will be made available on Catch Up as soon as possible. Our apologies for the inconvenience caused. ~LES
