South Africa will enter lockdown level two from Tuesday.

Restrictions on certain activities have now been eased under level 2 regulations.
LOCKDOWN LEVEL 2 FROM MIDNIGHT . Based on these discussions, Cabinet has therefore decided that the country will be placed on Adjusted Alert Level 2 with effect from tomorrow.
  • The hours of #curfew will start at 11pm and end at 4am.
  • Under the new regulations, only a maximum of 100 people are allowed at funerals, weddings, gyms, swimming pools, bars, taverns, shebeens, cinemas, theatres and concert venues.
Here is a list of what is permitted and prohibited under level 2 regulations;

PERMITTED

  • Inter-provincial travelling around South Africa
  • International travel
  • Sale of alcohol at off-sale and retail outlets
  • Night clubs until 10 pm
  • Sale of tobacco products
  • Gyms and fitness centres
  • Beaches and parks
  • Museums, galleries, libraries and archives
  • Restaurants until 10 pm
  • Water-based tourism activities (boat-based whale watching, scuba diving, shark cage diving, kayaking, river rafting, and speed boat rides)
  • Zoos, Aquaria, animal sanctuaries and rehabilitation centres
  • Swimming pools
  • Accommodation establishments
  • Tour operators
  • Casinos until 10 pm
  • Theatres and cinemas
  • Social gatherings (funerals and weddings limited to 100 people)
  • Auctions
  • Sporting activities
  • Personal care services, including hairdressing, beauty treatments, make -up and nails salons and piercing and tattoo parlours
  • Bus and taxi services may carry 100-per cent of the licensed capacity for any trip not regarded as long-distance travel in terms of sub-regulation.

PROHIBITED

  • Night vigils
  • Attendance of any sporting event by spectators.
