A MAN’S battle with constant, terrible pain led him to find a unique solution: tattooing his whole body.

According to news.com.au, Tattboy Holden (49), who’s from Adelaide, Australia, has tattooed about 90% of his body, including an eyeball and his 4-5.

He estimates that he has spent AU$100 000 (about R1 million) and 1 000 hours “modifying” his body.

His modifications include cutting his tongue in half (known as “bifurcation”) and implanting bolts into his head.
Quoted in the report, Tattboy said: “I was on some medication that gave me side effects and I needed an operation. After a few operations I was left with nerve damage that cannot be repaired.

“I had already had some tattoos in the past, but through the course of this I found tattoos were a form of pain therapy. I call it ‘pain distraction’. I look forward to it.

“If the tattoo is big enough, it distracts the pain for about a day. It still hurts, but it’s on your terms.

“The chronic pain returns eventually, but it’s a release.”

He added: "Around my eyes was pretty painful, my nose was gnarly, lips like razorblades. And getting your d**k tattooed hurts, obviously."

Once an office worker, Tattboy admitted to news.com.au that his love of ink has made him unemployable. He is sometimes mistaken as a criminal.

He now hopes to break into the DJ scene – and to tattoo his entire body before he dies.
