THEMBANOFEMELE is back on our screens as a slick womaniser!
Viewers haven’t seen him since his dramatic exit from SABC2’s Muvhango where he played Ranthumeng.
Now he’s joined e.tv’s Rhythm City as Kwela – and he’s already shaking things up!
Speaking to SunBuzz, he said: “Kwela’s an attractive and slick personal manager who can’t resist a beautiful woman, especially one who can sing. He’s sophisticated and reads people well so he can
manipulate them. He knows women well and is good at managing their careers.”
Asked if he’s met guys like his character, Kwela said: “I’ve been in this industry for a while and it taught me a lot. I was in a music group called 3rd Base, from Bloemfontein, so when I moved to Joburg I was more interested in music – so you can imagine the people I’ve met.”
Kwela said he and his character have one thing in common – a love for music.
He said he’s enjoyed being on the set of the popular soapie.
“I love this place, everyone’s like  family, but they mind their own business. There’s no star here, they treat each other with love and respect. I just do my job,” he said.
Kwela said he prepares for his role while relaxing at home. “I never read scripts on set,” he said.
Besides Rhythm City, Kwela runs other businesses.
  • His first TV role was in the SABC1 youth drama Tshisa, and he was one of the judges on So You Think You Can Dance, Season 3. Rhythm City airs weekdays on e.tv (DStv channel 194) at 7pm.
