Cassper Nyovest and Black Coffee nominated for MTV EMA

Local house maestro Black Coffee and hip hop megastar Cassper Nyovest are among the nominees for the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs)

Nodded in the category Best Africa Act, the duo will duke it out with Nigerian artist Wizkid, Tanzanian musician Ali Kiba and Nigerian artist Olamide.

Taking place on 6 November in Netherlands, Justin Bieber and Beyonce lead the nominations with 5 nods each.

Previous South Africans to be nominated for the awards include AKA, Mi Casa and Mafikizolo.

Mzansi groups Freshlyground and LCNVL have won in the past.
