The radiant Live Amp presenter came back from Los Angeles on Monday after spending what she termed "an incredible six nights" in one of the world's most sought after cities.
She said she timed her holiday programme around the same time as the BET Awards and enjoyed rubbing shoulders with some of the world's best artists.
Kganyago, who co-hosts The Morning Fix with DJ MoFlava on Metro FM on weekdays, said although it was the second time she was touring Hollywood, it felt different this time around.
"I met a couple of promoters and other industry heavyweights and we spoke about a whole range of issues including possible opportunities for me in the future.
"There is nothing concrete that was discussed but making those contacts was awesome as you never know what might be in store for you tomorrow," she said.
Kganyago also met superstar Akon at the awards and he had a few words with her.
"It was incredible," she beamed. "I rubbed shoulders with a whole lot of others but my experience with him was just special."
She was excited to be part of the BET red carpet and said it was better organised than most events she had been to.
"I had fun on the red carpet. It was an awesome experience to be photographed by press from all over the world and it felt good. I am glad that I went, I am feeling rested and ready to face the rest of the year with renewed energy now," she said.
Kganyago added that DJ Black Coffee's crowning as the best on the African continent made her feel proud to be a South African on the night.
She said she will not reveal
