AKA is not first local artist to hit million followers in SA: Is DJ Fresh

Last weeks City Press and other media outlet where celebrated AKA milestone to reach 1 million twitter followers claiming is the first local artist to hit the elusive million follower mark on Twitter.  But The Edge Search found that AKA is not first local artist to hit million followers is DJ Fresh. Currently DJ Fresh has about 1.2 million Twitter followers where.

South Africa’s most downloaded and playlisted musician, rapper AKA, has also become the first local artist to hit the elusive million follower mark on Twitter.
He narrowly pipped DJ Black Coffee, who has also just reached 1 million followers. AKA’s ex, DJ Zinhle, is just shy of the mark. source :city-press
