Idols SA hopefuls in Cape Town are in for a surprise. Before speculations spiral out of control that controversial judge Gareth Cliff has been fired from the panel, Mzansi Magic has issued a warning that Cliff would not be available for their Cape Town stopover this weekend.

Meanwhile, Carnival City in Brakpan on the East Rand resembled a carnival last weekend when Idols SA wannabes stormed its gates hoping for a golden ticket.
More than 1600 wannabe pro singers armed with their musical instruments and theatrics defied the gloomy weather to besiege the venue.
Nompumelelo Klaas, 26, and her friend Zinhle Mathebula, 16, both from Orange Farm, were the earliest people to arrive for the audition when they set up camp outside the venue on Friday night – 36 hours before the doors opened.
The final round of auditions takes place at Grand West Entertainment World in Cape Town on Saturday.
