Dance house music DJ Black Coffee got entangled in a war of words on social media with the management of a night club after he failed to show up for a gig last Sunday.
DJ Black Coffee, real name Nathi Maphumulo, was booked to perform at the All White Party at the Rio Cocktail Lounge in Kimberley but the disc jockey was nowhere to be seen despite being “fully paid.”
Disappointed fans demanded a refund from the club, prompting the establishment to issue a strongly worded Facebook statement the following day on Monday the 14th.
Coffee hit back in the comments section, accusing the club management of lying.
“It’s great that you’ve respected the People and put up the Statement…..now please respect us and tell the truth….let the people know that I didn’t just miss the flight…I couldn’t get on it because it wasn’t confirmed from your side…..We didn’t put up a post because we trusted that you’ll do the right thing and tell people the truth…as we were even to look at another date to assist with this situation but this is disappointing Brother,” reads Coffee’s comment.
But the club then posted pictures of documents confirming Coffee’s booked and paid for flight tickets.
