Seventeen more suspects have been arrested following an attack in which eight women were raped and more people were robbed.

The women were part of a film crew shooting a video at a disused mine dump.

By Friday night, 67 suspects had been arrested.

West Rand District Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana says all the suspects are undocumented foreign nationals.

Total arrests now stand at 84.

"They are undocumented, but as you know, due to the heinous crime which they committed here, everyone who we found in the vicinity... we have to take them in, process them and check the linkages," Kekana said.

Residents say they live in fear and are demanding more visible policing.
