Tbo Touch returns to Metro FM

Tbo Touch returns to Metro FM six years after leaving the station for a reported R480 000 monthly paycheque.

The controversial media personality kept the Metro FM “powers that be” on their toes for a year before agreeing to a comeback.

Tbo Touch is pitted to host the afternoon drive slot on the public broadcaster from 1 April.

Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe was with the station for 11 years before a communication breakdown led to him leaving in 2016.

Touch was suspended in 2016 after allegedly refusing to read an advert that reportedly cost the SABC millions.

However, he says he resigned on principle after the broadcaster failed to issue a public statement regarding his suspension.

Proving that you never burn your bridges, Tbo Touch returns to Metro FM following lengthy negotiations. According to reports, the broadcaster has broken the bank to bring Touchback.

The media personality used to host the station’s drive show, Touch Down 326 and will be returning to his usual slot.

His return is part of the station’s annual on-air revamp, and news of his return to the public broadcaster has been met with positive feedback.

Before quitting, Touch was said to be earning R2.4 million for his drive show, earning R200K a month.

Since leaving Metro FM, Tbo Touch started Touch HD, a digital radio station.

Touch HD and Marketing and Touch Central Marketing and Media House were taken to the South Gauteng High Court by JB Media Connection for failing to pay more than R1.3m.

Tbo Touch dismissed the liquidation allegations saying his business is thriving and continues to deliver epic content to its audience, maintaining quality service.
