Times are hard, but while many people continue to look for jobs and choose to live an honest life, others would instead make quick money by robbing and terrorising their communities. Many start small, like going into people's homes when no one is around, until they learn to handle guns and get involved in CIT heists, hijacking, and business robberies.

In a video that has gone viral, an old woman who lives at Hammanskraal in Tshwane woke up in the middle of the night only to find her door wide open, yet she closed it before going to bed. When she closed the door again, she discovered her furniture outside and two thieves sleeping on her doorstep.

She then called her neighbour to come and witness what was happening in her yard. She then told her neighbour that the thieves thought she was not home for the Easter weekend, and sadly for them, she tricked them and poured something in the yard to endure that should anyone try to break in, they immediately fall asleep.

The public believes that this is the best security system to keep thieves away from people's homes and that when they wake up, they should find themselves behind bars instead of mob justice. They add that taking the law into one's own hands works better to help the police catch criminals.

Some say that most thieves use muti to make their victims fall asleep, and they wake up to an empty house in the morning. However, if the thief does not use the muti correctly, they end up hypnotising themselves and being the ones that fall asleep.

South Africa is full of surprises. One would think that these things are staged. Whatever the case, we can only hope that the thieves are behind bars and that they will pay for breaking into people's homes.
