It's good to see retired soccer players venturing into business to stay finally stable. Soccer players have a stigma of being broke after retiring, Willard Katsande and Lucky Lekgwathi have a different story to tell.


Willard Katsande decided to focus on his construction company, Katsande partners after not renewing his contract with Kaizer Chiefs FC this year. Katsande is one of the longest-serving players for the club as he existed for 10 years.

Newsroom recently reported that Katsande's construction company is rebuilding Lucky Lekgwathi's restaurant which was looted in July during the unrest. Lekgwathi's restaurant was among many businesses that were affected by the unrest and

Katsande and Lekgwathi have been rivals on several Soweto derby. It is good for former opponents to work together to uplift each other and grow together in business.
