Khusela Diko

The whole of South Africa was furious today when they heard that the president's spokesperson is back in her position after being accused of a big tender scandal. According to the released reports this morning, Khusela Diko retained her position in the African National Congress as the president's spokesperson but that did not last for too long.

It was said that she was given a warning and she was going to keep her job but the president finally decided to fire her from her job with immediate effect. It is said that she refused to disclose some of the companies that she was involved in during this whole tender scandal and because of that she has been removed from her position as three or more forces spokesperson. However, it is said that she remains a person of public service as she steals in the presidency.

Below is a quote from an article by Times live that explains exactly what happened:

"Khusela Diko has been fired as President Cyril Ramaphosa's spokesperson but will retain a position in the public service.

Minister in the presidency Mondli Gungubele announced on Tuesday that the presidency had completed a disciplinary process against Diko for her failure to disclose her interests in certain companies, as required by public service regulations on the disclosure of financial interests."

What makes South Africans a bit angry is the fact that the ANC continues to recycle people who are corrupt. People believe that she should not remain in the African national Congress and should be fired and leave the party or worse, go to prison for what she has done. It is said that she is now in maternity leave and when she returns you will get a different position in the African national Congress and will remain in public service.

It is not known why the president is decided to fire her as the spokesperson but keeper in the party. It seems like this move to fire her was more made to please the masses but it is not necessarily a harsh punishment.

What is your take on the matter at hand? What do you think about the spokesperson being fired by then being employed in a different space?
