Cassper Nyovest has addressed the delay in the launch of the Root of Fame sneaker, which was scheduled for a virtual release on Monday, 5 July 2021.

Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter on Monday, 5 July 2021, to explain the delay in the launch of the Root of Fame sneaker. The sneaker is the first rollout of merchandise under the R100 million legacy deal between Nyovest and local sneaker brand, Drip Footwear. The initial proposed date for the release of the sneaker line was Monday, 28 June 2021. However, in light of the announcement of the return to Alert Level 4 restrictions and regulations, the launch was delayed for the first time.

The recent delay marks the second postponement. In his post, Cassper stated , “Okay, now it’s official. My first Sneaker will be dropping this Thursday. I am inviting you all to the Root Of Fame Conference (on) Thursday (at) 18:00. It’ll be a live streamed event and we will show the product and the name for the very first time. Who is joining us?”

Ahead of the conference, Nyovest and Drip Footwear have established a social media footprint for the merchandise line called Root of Fame. The footprint includes a Twitter account, which includes a confirmation post on the conference scheduled for Thursday, 8 July 2021.
