Bonj has released the Fly Away music video, which is in an effort to continue the promotional campaign of her debut EP, A Journal.
Bonj took to Instagram on Wednesday, 30 June 2021, to confirm the availability of the Fly Away music video. The Against the Grain vocalist marks her debut music video of the year with the release of the visuals. Moreover, the release of the music video continues the promotional trail, following the release of her debut EP, A Journal, on Friday, 25 June 2021.
According to the shared statement, “Fly Away is a fusion of electro, pop, and soul music elements, resulting in a unique, catchy sound led by Bonj’s husky and strong voice, that’s rich, seductive, and incredibly entrancing. The lyrics reflect on the strength of unity that’s brought to the fore and reinforced by the refrain that she ‘won’t let go.”

Adding, “Using the lyrical content of the single, the music video draws its inspiration. Bonj collaborated with Poncho Studio to provide an animated music video introducing us to Bodega. Visual references include Uncle Vinny, Connie and Shona Ferguson, Riky Rick and a host of other recognizable animated personalities.”
