Orlando Pirates star defender Thabo "Festival" Matlaba was allegedly embroiled in a pre-dawn gun battle that left an unknown Tembisa man in hospital.
The incident, which allegedly resembled an action movie, occurred at Phomolong Section in Tembisa at about 4am last Sunday morning.Both Matlaba and the unidentified gunmen reported the matter to the Rabie Ridge police station but none of them were arrested.
Police spokesman Mofa Masela confirmed that Matlaba opened a case of attempted murder but further investigations will notbe carried out and the case is set to be withdrawn.
