An innocent visit to an MTN shop in Brakpan turned into an ugly attack and being called the k word for Muvhango actor, Arthur Mbambo who plays the character of Thandaza's father in the SABC 2 soapie.
75 year old actor known for his role as Bab' Buthelezi on Muvhango and Bab' Shabalala on Tshisa got attacked at Carnival Mall in Brakpan on December 19 2016.
According to Sunday World, the veteran actor was at an MTN shop to do a sim swap and was told to go and purchase a sim card elsewhere since the shop was out of stock. The sales consultant assured him that when he comes back to the shop to activate and RICA the sim card he won't have to start at the back of the queue.
When he returned the Muvhango actor explained to the customers that he was not jumping them as he was already at the shop earlier on. While he was still explaining, a white woman from the back of the queue complained that Mbambo was cheating by not standing at the back.
After being assisted by the sales consultant, he wished everyone a Merry Christmas and the same woman who had complained said "wie dink jy is k***?"
Upon the actor's arrival at the door, a young white man threw a can of cold drink on his face. After that, punches followed. Which left Mbambo with a red and swollen eye.
Police arrived at the scene and took both, Mbambo and the attacker to the Brakpan Police Station.
