Doom-spraying Prophet, Lethebo Rabalago, is expected to appear at the Polokwane High Court in Limpopo today following an urgent interdict against him by the Provincial Department of Health to stop him from continuing in his harmful practices.
Rabalago, of the Mount Zion General Assembly church, made headlines last year after posting pictures on the church’s official Facebook page of him spraying congregants on their faces and feet with the insect repellent to “heal” them.
Derrick Kganyago, spokesperson at the Limpopo Department of Health tells DRUM that it was imperative for the Department to file an urgent interdict because they needed to protect the people of Limpopo.
“Doom is dangerous for human consumption and we wanted to protect our people,” he says.
“It’s our mandate as the Department of Health to protect people because he is contravening the Health Act.”
Kganyago says they are not concerned whether Rabalago gets a fine or is send to prison.
“What is important to us is that he stops. We’re not concerned if he gets a fine or goes to prison,” says Kganyago
Further details on Rabalago’s appearance in court will be provided in the course of the day.
