Actor Kay Sibiya was desperate to pursue his dreams, and he knew the only way to realise them was to come to the City of Gold. Kay arrived in Jozi with just R50 in his pocket and he squatted with family and friends while hustling for work.
“I had to squat all over the place and I moved nine times in under a year,”  he says adding that he has now found his “true calling”.
One would think with his new- found fame and some money in his pocket, Kay will be living large. But the 28-year-old actor, who plays the role of Pastor Ayanda Mdletshe on Uzalo, says, “The most important thing is not living up to expectations and perceptions because you’re on TV. People expect you to be rich, to drive a certain car, to eat certain types of food and to be seen in fancy places. That’s not who I am.”
Although he admits he is not really the wisest when it comes to financial decisions, he says, “I always ensure I put bread on the table for my family”.
Kay, who is admired by many his female fans and frequently gets mobbed whenever he is out and about, maintains the hype does not get to him.
Unfortunately for the ladies, the hot and sexy actor reveals that he is taken and in love with Nolungelo Dlamini. Who knows, there might be wedding bells soon.
