Kelly Khumalo has decided to let herself live, even though the anniversary of her boyfriend takes a toll on her
South Africa was remembering Senzo Meyiwa on the second year of his death on 26 October.
Speaking to Sowetan, Kelly told the newspaper that as time goes by she is learning to live with the painful memory of losing her lover. “I think as time goes on, one learns to live with such things and not let it get in the way of your everyday life”.
She’s had to “brush it off” and attend to the demands of everyday life, like raising their child, her music and acting.
“I’m on set. I can’t afford to sit at home and sulk and mourn. I’ve had to brush it off. I can’t be falling apart every year on this day. It is what it is. It’s painful, but I’ve decided let me go on,” she added.
She credits God for pulling her through the dark period of her life when she was even called names for Senzo’s murder.
“God has brought me so far. My man was killed in front of me and people had so much to say… But God has been with me.”
It would seem like some people are still angry at the songstress:
