On Saturday the 3rd of December, Black Coffee and Metro FM are taking over FNB Stadium, Outer Fields to host this year’s most spectacular hip-hop and house music showcase. After staging a sell-out inaugural production in 2015, Metro FM presents The Black Coffee Block Party is back with the absolute best in house and hip-hop artists.

South Africa’s Nkosinathi Maphumulo / Black Coffee continued to steer his course of global domination throughout 2016. Over the past 12 months, the acclaimed DJ and music producer has added a prestigious Ubuntu Award, four SAMA’s (incl. Album of the Year and the International Achievement Award), a historic BET Award for Best International Act: Africa, and Best DJ in the Deep House category at the 2016 Ibiza DJ Awards, to his numerous accolades.
This year also marked the worldwide release of his double platinum selling album ‘Pieces of Me’ on Ultra Music, a remix for Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys and a 5-month international tour that spanned 5 continents, over 50 cities and included performances at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Snowbombing, Extrema Outdoor Belgium, South West Four, Cavo Paradiso, Solomun +1, Ushuaia Ibiza, RBMA Montreal, Warehouse Project as well as Black Coffee’s fourth consecutive season in Ibiza as one of Circoloco’s resident DJs.
Regardless of how much Black Coffee’s profile and popularity skyrockets, he always stays true to his roots. December 2015 saw thousands of fans pack out the first ever Black Coffee Block Party at Johannesburg’s Mary Fitzgerald Square.
This year’s show promises to be bigger and better in every possible way as Black Coffee ups the ante by moving proceedings to a much larger venue: the 20 000 capacity Outer Fields at FNB Stadium.

To this end, Black Coffee has once again succeeded in curating a line-up of unparalleled proportions guaranteed to mesmerize the masses!

Multi award-winning hip-hop mega-star and undisputed crowd pleaser Cassper Nyovest returns to set #BCBP16 alight with his spellbinding stage presence, sensational rhymes and effortless flow. With tracks like Doc Shebeleza and Phumkin whipping the crowd into a feverish frenzy, Nyovest commands the stage like no other.

Add to that a full throttle live performance from rap demi-god Rikhado ‘Riky Rick’ Makhado serving up smash hits such as Boss Zonke and Sidlukotini and the #BCBP16 hip-hop onslaught will be closed out by the distinctive style and energy of Pop Bottles head honcho DJ Dimplez.
Similarly, a cast of house music’s finest including industry legend and luminary DJ Oskido; Metro FM master of the airwaves Mo Flava, the unstoppable Glen Lewis and funk/groove/soul selector Lulo Café have been selected to join the explosive DJ/percussion duo Unplugged; in musical support of their host, Black Coffee.
These are only the first phase of artists to be released, there are many more still to come! When SA’s biggest artist requests your presence at the most unforgettable event of 2016, you heed the call. Best round up your crew & RSVP at once!
