WINNIE Madikizela-Mandela recently had a birthday bash at the Mount Nelson Hotel, celebrating her 80th birthday.

The 'mother of the nation' looked incredible for a woman her age.
Photos from the event were soon all over social media; some marveled at Winnie's flawless beauty, while others began speculations that she had gone under the knife or that she had botox done on her face.

Winnie's granddaughter Zoleka Mandela took to social media to revealed that her grandmother found the rumours "ridiculously funny."

In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote: "I don't know what's more surprising? ?? My Day One (my grandmother) saying, "Darling let me call you on IMO," or that she had the damn thing before me? This is us last night talking about ALL the rumours regarding the plastic surgery, skin bleaching and Botox she's supposedly had done! The memes circulating too, she finds those as ridiculously funny as the gossip! P.S. Apparently I bleached my skin too, they say my hands are way too dark for my face and that I didn't properly bleach them in the process! In the words of my Mother/Queen in law, Maman Regine, "Get A Life!"

Mam' Winnie's daughter Zinzi also took to social media to rubbish the rumours.
She tweeted: "#PureAfricanBeauty No fillers, injections involved media person."
