Famous for her signature chiskop look and Skhanda Queen nickname, Mabena said her journey as a TV presenter had been "fruitful and rewarding" since winning the MTV Base VJ Search, beating IsiBaya actress Nomzamo Mbatha, among others, in 2012.
Now the face of the Vuzu channel's entertainment show on DStv, Mabena (23) says it's been like she was meant to be on the box.
The same year that she made her TV debut, she appeared on e.tv's music show Club 808 as a guest presenter.
"It's like it was meant to be. I enjoyed every moment of being a VJ [video jock], and when it was time to move on, I did just that and left MTV Base," she said of the music show she quit in March.
"I have done so many things and have put a rubber stamp on so many projects. I'm proud of myself.
"I believe in diversity. I think that's my strength. I don't spend a long time doing one project. I have to keep up with trends."
In 2014, she attended the MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow, Scotland, as a red carpet co-host, mingling and interviewing with international stars.
She says she's fulfilled by showcasing her music and fashion sense, while contributing towards the advancement of the local fashion industry.
"V Entertainment is a daily show, and judging by the response from viewers, it is the most watched lifestyle show on the DStv platform," she says.
"The viewers are really enjoying the ride with me."

Mabena has since collaborated with the likes of AKA and Rouge, Ma-E and M-Blazing, the brains behind her first album to be released before year end.
"I'm working on it with top dogs in the rap space. It's going to be a game-changer."
And she's also been busy on the fashion side of things.
"I'm inspired to go bright [for the summer] after the dull and cold winter."
