Actress and television presenter, who spoke about being raped by an ex-boyfriend a hole ago says the agenda for sharing her story was to empower other women.

Amanda du-Pont is a Swazi-born South African actress. She was born in Swaziland, on June 26, 1988, currently resides in South Africa. In addition to acting, she is also a television anchor/host, voice over artist, model, brand ambassador, live event MC, and business woman.

Speaking to Grazia Magazine Amanda said, despite being raped people should understand that they shouldn’t be ashamed of their past experiences.

“When people are raped, they feel the did something wrong, or it was their responsibility. It’s not. But it’s important to deal with it and move on – like I’ve moved on. There’s no point holding on to something for years, till it becomes your reason for not being successful.”

“If you’ve been through a tough time, that means you should be more successful than anyone else.” she told the magazine.
