ACTOR and presenter Dingaan Mokebe ka Khumalo did not renew his contract with Speak Out.
But sources said the actor, who plays James on SABC2’s soapie Muvhango, was fired as a presenter of the channel’s consumer rights show.
Sources at Urban Brew Studios told Sunday Sun Dingaan has been replaced by his colleague in Muvhango, Lesley Musina.
Lesley plays Ndalamo in the soapie.
According to sources, Dingaan’s contract was not renewed because of his attitude.
Dingaan sings another tune: “Yes, I’m no longer shooting with them. I left because there were many things I was unhappy about. But I wasn’t fired. I left Speak Out.”. I loved and enjoyed working there but behind the scenes politics made me leave the show
The sources claimed he became too arrogant to work with and demanded many things from producers.
Another source confirmed Dingaan has been relieved from his duties, but there was no clear reason as to why.
“He stopped shooting some time ago. But we’re unsure why he’s no longer shooting with Speak Out,” the source said.
“We were never informed of anything and we know it’s been a month since he’s not been shooting,” the source said.A third source said: “We’ve not been formally told, but we’ve learnt Lesley will be the new presenter on Speak Out.” When called for comment, Lesley couldn’t confirm or deny the allegations.
“I can’t comment on the matter. I have no permission to discuss it,” he said.
CEO of Aviwe Business Development Services, Mpho Vilane, confirmed Dingaan will no longer present Speak Out.
“We can confirm Dingaan will no longer present the show. We worked with him for three seasons. It was time to pursue other things in his career. I can’t confirm a new presenter as we’re still analysing auditions,” she said.
