We can’t get involved’ – IEC

The IEC has noted with concern the “current level of violence” in Tshwane.

“We remind you that a candidate list is an internal party matter which the Electoral Commission cannot get involved in.”

They can’t bring a Zulu to lead us – Tshwane residents

Residents of Atteridgeville, Tshwane, have lashed out at the ANC’s decision to put forward Thoko Didiza as mayoral candidate for the city, saying a Zulu person from KwaZulu-Natal cannot be brought in to lead them.
“The ANC cannot bring a Zulu person to rule Pedi, Tsongas, Shangaans and Vendas,” a taxi driver said on Tuesday.
“What does she know about Pretoria? Where was she born in Pretoria? She must go back to KZN.”
Meanwhile, the 10:00 press conference due to be hosted by the ANCWL and the ANCYL over the Tshwane protests has been cancelled.

We will vote DA if ANC doesn’t change decision

An EWN reporter captured this footage of a disgruntled ANC voter claiming protesters will vote for the DA if the party doesn’t change its decision to appoint Thoko Didiza as Tshwane mayoral candidate.
Sources closer to Thoko Didiza revealed that she is consulting leaders in the ANC structures for a possible resignation from the post as she can’t bear to see violence.
“She is consulting party leaders in the ANC for a possible cancellation of her nomination. Thoko is a peace loving woman; she can’t bear seeing that kind of violence above all she is bound to lose when the voters are not happy. She has had enough as a family we have pushed her to force a cancellation for the sake of innocent people. They rejected her because she is Zulu,” said a source which denied to be revealed.
