Former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) boss Solly Mokoetle‚ who apparently went missing last Friday evening from his home north of Durban‚ has been found.


A family member confirmed the news to TMG Digital on Wednesday.
“We are here at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital [in Phoenix]‚” said Mokoetle’s sister Agnes Sikali before passing the phone to another man.
“He’s alive but we can’t say anything now‚” said the man.
Details of how he was eventually found remained sketchy as the family would not elaborate any further.
According to reports‚ Mokoetle‚ 59‚ now a Department of Communications employee‚ went missing following a family outing on Friday when he took a walk outside the gate of the estate.
He had last been seen leaving his home in the plush Mount Edgecombe complex.
His wife‚ Zola Ntuli‚ was reported to have said that she had no idea where her husband had gone‚ prompting a massive search by the police.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Shooz Magudulela could not confirm that Mokoetle had been found‚ saying as far as he knew the search was still on.
Department of Communications spokesman Mish Molakeng refuted social media speculation that minister Faith Muthambi was to make an announcement with regard to Mokoetle’s whereabouts.
Mokoetle’s relatives had travelled from Pretoria‚ Soweto and Ficksburg in the Free State to be with Ntuli and the children
