The absence of Royal Eagles’ striker Katlego Mphela at training has raised speculation, with reports in some media suggesting that the former Bafana Bafana marksman may have gone AWOL.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star has not set foot at training for two weeks, Daily Sun reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, Mphela was last seen on the field he was substituted during Eagles’ 3-1 win over FC Cape Town at the Harry Gwala Stadium on 9 January.
It is reported the striker was unhappy with his substitution by coach Khabo Zondo and was seen kicking and screaming in frustration. That was the last time Mphela was seen.
Mphela’s absence cost Eagles dearly as the promotion chasing team was held to a goalless draw at home to Mbombela United on Sunday.
Mphela has scored four goals for the Pietermaritzburg-based outfit since joining in a shock move from Chiefs.
Eagles are currently placed seventh on the NFD log table having collected 26 points from 16 games.
They are nine points behind leaders Baroka FC.
