AFTER seven years of playing lone guardian to his five children, Lucas “Rhoo” Radebe will soon have an official partner to take care of his large family.
Today Sunday Sun can reveal Mzansi’s football legend has found solace in the arms of Nonhlanhla Mzimela.
Sources close to Nonhlanhla described her as a laid-back woman from Matikulu, near Mandeni on the KZN north coast.
They said she’s a nurse by profession.
Sources close to the situation told the People’s Paper the Radebes are set to visit the Mzimelas next Saturday for umembeso and possibly a traditional wedding.
Last month, Rhoo confirmed the good news to our sister publication, City Press, that he was getting married this month.
It will be the former Kaizer Chiefs, Bafana Bafana and Leeds United captain’s second marriage.
His first wife, Feziwe, died of breast cancer seven years ago.
Feziwe and Lucas were blessed with two children, Lucas Junior (16) and Owami (11).
Lucas’s eldest son, Ofentse, is following in his dad’s footsteps.
He is on the books of Premier Soccer League side, Bidvest Wits.
Nokuthula’s mum, MaKhanyile, initially confirmed her daughter was getting married to the former soccer star.
But later, she requested not to be quoted, saying the SunTeam should first seek permission from the Radebes.
MaKhanyile said: “Did umkhwenyana (the groom) give you permission to interview me?
“I’m scared if I discuss this further, something terrible might happen to my daughter.”
Both Nokuthula and Lucas couldn’t be reached for comment.
His phone rang unanswered. He also failed to respond to our SMSes at the time of going to print.
