HE USED to have a lot of friends and would enjoy drinking beer with them at the tavern.
But these days, Denis Stona says he’s a prisoner in his own house.
He says friends have turned their backs on him because he stopped going out to drink.
The 54-year-old from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni told Daily Sun that he has been locking himself in his house since residents started insulting him for not visiting the tavern.
“My old friends have turned against me,” said Denis.
“I can’t walk freely in the street.
“Some say I should move out of the kasi because I’m not useful.”
Denis said his problems started when he received his pension money two years ago.
“I decided to extend and renovate my house,” he said.
“I stopped going to taverns because people make demands.”
Captain Piet Rossouw said: “Denis must open a case of crimen injuria against the people who insult him.
“He could also get a protection order.”
