THEY may act like Tom and Jerry on screen, but behind the scenes, Thandeka Dawn King (38) and Bongani Dlamini (37), are said to be lovers.
Dawn, who plays Lindiwe and Bongani, who plays Mkhonto in SABC1’s Uzalo, have been spotted at many events, looking cosy together.
Sunday Sun also spotted them smooching behind a Jeep Wrangler in the parking lot minutes before the Metro FM Boat Cruise, last Saturday.
Friends close to the actors said the two TV stars have set tongues wagging in the entertainment industry.
“At some events they arrive with their colleagues, but then isolate themselves and are usually seen all cosy, chit-chatting and giggling while looking into each other’s eyes.
“At the Crown Gospel Music Awards last week, the two were doing the same thing. Mkhonto kept accompanying Lindiwe whenever she was going to the loo. What colleague would do that?” asked a source.
Another source said they’ve been suspecting the relationship between the two was more than just work-related.
The source said it’s disgusting because Lindiwe is a married woman.
“I thought Lidiwe was happily married with five kids.
“What she’s doing now is disappointing,” said a second source.
When contacted for comment, Mkhonto laughed and said: “We normally get invites as the cast of Uzalo and we go as a group, so what you’re saying is all new to me.”
An angry Lindiwe refused to comment and hung up the first time we called her.
When called again and asked why Mkhonto was accompanying her to the loo at the Crown Gospel Music Awards, she again refused to comment and hung up on the SunTeam.
