THE daughter of award-winning music icon, Chicco Twala, is set to light up the music industry!
Nowie Zanele Twala, aka “DJ Z’ne”, said she’s passionate about music and delivering a new sound.
The 24-year-old will be recording a song with her dad.
DJ Z’ne said Chicco has always been her inspiration, paving the way for her music career.
“I’m a very versatile DJ. I can’t stick to one genre within house music. I can play tempo, electro, tribal and commercial music.
“And soon, Mzansi will get to hear my new sound featuring Chicco,” she said.
DJ Z’ne, who’s also a singer and songwriter, told Sunday Sun: “It was a challenge as I was one of the youngest vocalists, but I learned a lot in a short time.
“I had the privilege to be mentored by mature singers. My dad played a big role in nurturing my talent.” She also appreciates Carnao Beats and his music that inspired her in this journey.
She added: “At the moment I’m focusing on a lot of things. I need to brand myself so I can become a household name.
“I want to create the foundation, then build an empire on it – just as my dad did.”
Sunday Sun understands DJ Z’ne is scheduled to take part in the annual Durban Beach Festival on 27 November.
She’ll be doing a set with Nomuzi Mabena and some of Mzansi’s top musicians.
She said: “I admire DJ Black Coffee’s work, both locally and internationally.
“He’s built himself a great fan base in the music scene.”
