Speaking at a Memorial service held earlier today for the recently deceased veteran actor, Generations The Legacy producer, Mfundi Vundla confirmed that Studio 5 would be renamed in honor of the late Joe Mafela.
"Without the content and the people who bring audiences, the SABC is brick and mortar. Joe brought audiences," explained Vundla.
The memorial service was held at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein and featured a range of speakers from baba Mafela's family to Cynthia Shange, Tony Kgoroge and Patrick Shai.
Mr Mafela passed away this past weekend following a car accident.
