Queen B will be taking the reigns over from Trevor Noah as host of the sixth edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs)

A day before the awards ceremony is set to take place, Noah pulled out due to a severe upper respiratory and ear infection.
In a statement, the host of The Daily Show apologised to his fans, assuring them that he loves the awards show and his country.

“I love the Mama’s and more importantly I love performing in my country,” he said. “I’m so sorry if I’ve disappointed you but please know that I love performing more than anything in life and so having to cancel any show, breaks my heart,” Noah continued.

The awards are set to take place in a 2-hour telecast at the Dome in, Randburg, Johannesburg on Saturday, 22 October.
