Caster Semenya landed first place at the 800m semi-finals a few hours ago at the 2016 Olympics.
On Wednesday Caster eased her way into the heats 800m session as she qualified for the semi-finals. On Friday morning Caster confidently finished first place during her 800m semi-final run, moving her a step closer to the gold medal.
The Olympian will be running the 800m finals on Sunday, 20 August.
The athlete has been receiving unwavering support from the masses who are also confident that Caster will walk away with a gold medal. Other South African athletes who have been making us extremely proud are the likes of Sunette Viljoen and Henri Schoeman.
Sunette Viljoen won second place in the women’s javelin finals, winning a silver for South Africa.
Whilst Henri Schoeman on Thursday walked away with a bronze medal for the men’s individual triathlon.
Congratulations to all three athletes they're certainly flying the South African flag high.
