Financial services group, Sanlam together with millionaire rapper Cassper Nyovest and Pearl Thusi have joined forces in a campaign to raise Financial awareness amongsth young people.
In a documentary for Sanlam, Cassper and Pearl discuss some of their financial challenges and some big financial decisions they have had to make. As part of the campaign, Cassper released the video for song Mr Madumane which is a song about a guy who is a big spender. The set for the video was made from recycled goods products.
Cassper said when Sanlam approached him about being part of the campaign and doing the song, he had to look at the way people were living and realized they were living beyond their means. “ I was not born into money, I had to work hard for it. I don’t sleep,” says Cassper.
Pearl Thusi share how when she was growing up, she knew she would be something amazing and she has learnt to spend wisely while trying to reach that goal. “Money is like a child, you have to take care of it,” she says.
Pearl and Cassper will be running the campaign as part of the National Savings Month.
