Popular TV personality Pearl Thusi will be leaving her presenting gig on Live AMP.

A statement issued by the SABC on Thursday confirmed that Pearl will be leaving the show. It was initially confirmed that she would be leaving on 4 March, but the SABC has confirmed that Pearl has left with immediate effect.

Pearl, who has been a part of the Live AMP team for the last three years, says she is excited about future possibilities.

“I’m very excited for what the future holds and I’m definitely up for the challenge. I thank everyone for their continued love and support. I will miss “my family” at Live AMP and Urban Brew a lot, they have been a real force in my life and I will treasure the time spent with them. I am looking forward to working on some unbelievable projects,” she says.

Live AMP will continue in its new 30-minute format with DJ Warras as its sole presenter.

The move comes after the SABC suspended Pearl from Metro FM, allegedly because of comments she made about Bonang Matheba. At the time, there was speculation that Pearl would be leaving Live AMP, but it was a rumour she continued to deny.
