MOTSHIDISI Mohlakoana’s mum died in August but instead of getting support from those around her, she had to deal with a tenant from hell.

When the 53-year-old tried to evict the tenant last Thursday, the woman broke all the windows and doors and threw boiling water on a resident’s punani!

Motshidisi said the tenant had been living with her mum for two years and believed she would inherit the house in Thokoza, Ekurhuleni. She was furious when this didn’t happen.

“When my mum died, I was in the Eastern Cape but I came to Joburg because I knew the house would be stolen by someone from outside the family. This woman has been making excuses not to leave for months.

“When I arrived at the house last week, the councillor came with me to tell her to leave. But the woman started breaking things and phoned her friends, who got violent.”

During the chaos, the woman threw boiling water on the punani of Mapule Motaung, who was trying to help Motshidisi.

Mapule opened a case and the woman was arrested for her alleged behaviour.

Thokoza police spokeswoman Captain Buyisile Mvelase confirmed that cases of assault and malicious damage to property were opened. “A suspect was arrested and has since been released on bail.”
