The price of petrol is set to increase in October, the Department of Energy warned on Monday.

Petrol, diesel and paraffin prices will go up from Wednesday.

93 octane petrol has increased by 25 cents per litre, while 95 octane petrol will cost you 29 cents extra, per litre.

Diesel is up by 42 cents, while paraffin will cost 52 cents extra per litre.

The energy department blamed international fluctuations for the price increases.
