Many of us probably started to notice her on Rhythm City but the musician initially got into the industry through music. After graduating from the National School of Arts, Hloni enrolled into AFDA where she studied music and hopped straight into the music industry.

25-year-old Lesotho born Honi Padi has a little more to offer than just a pretty face and her acting talent, she is also a house music vocalist. After doing a few vocals for some artist, the musician decided it was time to do her own thing and later starting to perform her own songs, headlining her own shows and next thing you know, acting came knocking on her door.
The singer turned actress previously played the role of Thuli on Isibaya and her most memorable role to date was when she guest starred alongside Donovan Goliath as Bonang and AKA on Ses’Top la. She currently plays Palesa a feisty, overly flirtatious girl trying to make it in music on Etv’s Rhythm City.
Her story line at the moment touches on a very sensitive topic, one that many women are dealing with in the country. Hloni chose to not shy away from this character as she knew the important role she’d be playing for all women and girls.

“I put myself in that situation on purpose, if I am going to be a storyteller I need to be able to tell even the stories that people don’t want to hear, it’s my job and I needed to do it.”

She explains. Hloni enjoyed moving away from the ‘steal your man’ Palesa to one that touches on a topic that is so relevant yet so sensitive in our country. She was excited to shoot those scenes and not once did she feel uncomfortable because she was also challenging herself and pushing herself to see how far she can go.

Hloni has a new track called Thando Lami, the single is not released yet, but it is available on iTunes. She is also working on new material of her own while shooting a new up coming show. She can’t share too much details about it but says it’s something to look forward to as we will see a whole different side to her. She is also a voice over artist and a presenter.
