The local drama series has recently been informed of an unfortunate scam that has been making its rounds in and around Gauteng.

The Rythm City production team has released a statement denouncing that they are having any auditions for the show and urged people to spread the word.

“We’ve been alerted of a Rhythm City auditions scam around Balfour and Highlands North. Someone in a white Quantum is going around Highlands North, picking up people to take them to auditions at Rhythm City.

Please note that we are NOT holding any auditions and have not acquired such transport for auditions. This is a scam!” Read the statement.

In the past, there have been numerous false auditions of various local shows.

ZAlebs recently spoke to Rowlene Friendlander, a talent agent who shared her knowledge about acting and auditions.

Rowlene made it clear that people need to do thorough research before going to an audition and should never pay for their auditions as they are free.

“Nobody should be paying for an audition, that’s totally taboo if that ever happens then you should immediately know that’s either a mickey mouse agency or audition they’re dealing with. You do not pay or get paid to do an audition.

Well, there you have it folks we hope these guidelines will help you in achieving your dream in becoming an actor.” Said Rowlene.
